Hip Navigation

hip_simulator_updated.jpg

Provide your residents with a radiation free environment for practicing their hip wire navigation skills. This product allows students to place a guide wire in a Sawbones surrogate femur with the assistance of computer generated fluoroscopic images. Both AP and Lateral images are generated to give your residents the information they need to accurately place the wire and improve their surgical technique. The simulator uses a custom made Sawbones femur to allow residents to practice placing a guide wire in bone. The femur is made with varying levels of dense foam so that users can distinguish the difference between cortical and cancelous bone. More information regarding this can be found here.
